New Year's Eve 2011

This year we headed to San Diego to spend the holiday with my Aunt Lani's family. We joined in again on their holiday tradition of going to the car show! It was so fun. The last time we went Seth was just learning to walk, so this time Seth had a blast running around and climbing in all the cars and pretending to drive.
I sat in the car I have always wanted a Toyota 4runner.

They had this driving course with power wheels for little kids. I was laughing so hard the entire time. Ryan had to walk behind him and straighten him out because his is working on learning how to steer still. But it was great and I was in tears laughing at him trying to drive his little jeep.

The rest of the evening was spent eating yummy snacks and playing games.

Christmas 2011

This year Christmas was fun. Seth seemed to understand a little better what was going on. Since his Birthday is so close to Christmas he was getting confused and calling Christmas presents Birthday presents, and saying "Happy Birthday Seth." Christmas morning was a little hectic because of 9 am church. But Seth was excited when he woke up and saw all the presents out. With Ryan just graduating we were only able to get a few things for Seth. It is a good thing he is so young and doesn't really get it yet. We hope next Christmas will be much better financially. But it does help you to remember what is really important. Lots of thanks to Family for spoiling Seth so his parents don't look so bad!! ha ha. After church we drove to Corona to spend the day with Ryan's family.

Seth's favorite toy this year...play food. Not so much mine because plastic food is constantly strewn about my whole house. But he loves playing with it.
Grandma and Grandpa Bias did a fun thing and had big boxes with the grand kids initials on them with all their gifts inside.

Christmas Eve 2011

For Christmas Eve this year I was struggling trying to come up with traditions for our family. I was looking all over the Internet and asking friends what they do with their families. Most things seemed like they would just go right over Seth's head or cost a lot of money. But when Christmas Eve finally rolled around we thought we would take advantage of the nice weather and take an outing to the Beach! I cannot explain how amazing it was. It was hot and there wasn't anyone there. Since I grew up in cold frozen Utah I did not think that this could be real! Although a white Christmas is what most want this had to be the next best thing. It was wonderful!! We just played in the sand, chased waves, and looked at tide pools.

Can you believe this is in December???

After getting home from the beach and nap time, I thought it would be fun to make some sugar cookies and leave some out for Santa. It did result in some crying tantrums and frustration for Seth, so that was a little sad, but what can you expect from a very headstrong , stubborn little boy.
Mommy working in the kitchen
After making the sugar cookies we put some out for Santa, and watched a Christmas movie. Ryan and I win parents of the year award because almost instantly we both fell asleep, a bit later I woke up and found Seth eating the frosting off of the cookies we left out for Santa! Our Little Stinker!!

Last Trip to Knotts....for now.

We took one last trip to Knotts Berry Farm before our passes expired. I LOVED having passes here. The rides were perfect for Seth. It was a great close outing for us that was free, which is always a bonus. Seth loved it there.

Santa

Another Santa success!! Seth sat on Santa's lap again at the ward party!! Couldn't believe it!

Ryan Graduates!!!!!

December 17, 2011 was a loooong awaited day. Ryan Graduated from Chiropractic School. He humored me and did the whole Graduation thing. Believe me he did not want to go and be apart of it, but it is a huge accomplishment and it needs to be celebrated!!!!! I was a little upset because the lighting for taking pictures was horrible and by the time Ryan actually walked across the stage Seth was losing it and tugged on my arm that was holding the camera the moment he was hooded and given his diploma! But I got a really blurry one of him walking of the stage with some grey haired mans head halfway in it.!! Go Me!! But it was a great ceremony and we are so proud of Ryan and his accomplishment. Ryan says the real accomplishment will be when he is making money. But he is a Big time Doctor now, watch out!!!!! I can't believe we are done with school. It seemed like it would never come, but now it has and the scary real world awaits us!!!! Wish us luck!!

Santa at Storytime

Santa came to Story time at the Library! He read some Christmas books to the kids, we played Jingle Bells for him with musical instruments, and had cookies and apple cider. We even had the chance to sit on his lap. Which I did not think it was going to happen since in past years it has been nuclear meltdown status. I was very surprised when he walked up and climbed up on his lap!!!
