Happy Birthday Kelsey!!!

Last Monday it was my sister Kelsey's birthday. We had a fun dinner at Crown Burger, and then back to my mom's house where we had cake, and presents. Happy Birthday Kels, we all love you!!!!

Sorry I couldn't help posting these cute pictures of McKayden. She is growing up so fast!! Doesn't she look like her Mom????

A sad fish tale....

If any of you know me very well you would know that I like to do crafts but admittaly I am really not that great at them. So this semmester I signed up for a beginning handbuilding ceramics class. I thought that it would be a totally easy A for my last semester. Boy was I wrong. This class has been the biggest headache, and drama of my life. So for our third project we had to build a sculpture out of leather hard slabs. What this means is we had to build a sculpture that is 3 dimensional, all of the components have to be hollow and make it out of flat, stiff, almost dryed clay. Which is really hard to do, if you haven't ever worked with clay a lot. Well after days of stewing of what to make, and my teacher picking on me constatly, the due date was coming up quickly and I had to take all of my clay and instruments home to work on it during the weekend. So here are all of the pictures of my sculpture. It may not look like a lot, but I was dang proud of it. It ended up about a foot and half tall.

So the sad part is, I had started to let in dry out at home because I finished it. And on the transport to class, someone bumped into me and it BROKE!!! All the bubbles fell off and it just started to fall apart. I tried to put it back together in class, but since I had started to let it dry it was past the stage where I could make it work. I was so sad because I had worked so hard on it and I was pretty proud of it. Fortunaltly I have these pictures to show my one bright shinning moment as an artist.

I told YOU....................

Since Lindy made fun of me for bringing in the pumpkins, I started to leave them outside. From the pictures you can see who was right, and the funny thing is is hers is still standing, and mine is the one flat like a pancake. I think she did it

Happy Halloween

These are our wonderful carved pumpkins! I haven't carved a pumpkin in a few years and it was so much fun. I will have to admit I was a little rusty and Ryan had to help me because I kept getting frustrated because of the small legs on the spider. I love him for being so patient with me!! Anyways if you know Ryan and I you would be saying, "You guys are actually home at the same time?" Well this rare event was due to my sick leave from work to recover from getting my wisdom teeth taken out, and unfortunatly Ryan's truck broke down and he called in sick to work. So magically we had a night off together and it was so much fun to hang out and have some holiday fun.

A little funny story about Ryan..... The night we carved the pumpkins we had them out on our front porch, and when we were going upstairs to bed Ryan opened up the door and brought our pumpkins inside. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "When I was a kid if there was a pumkin out I smashed it, I know how kids are!" I told him that I hope that he gets back what he did as a kid to other people. We are in for a treat!!! Anyways so for now the pumpkins sleep inside with us.

The Flood!!!

Well about a week ago we realized that our basement flooded. We rarely ever use our basement so it took us about two days to realize it was flooded. I found the water after seeing every basement in our row of townhomes with fans going, and decided to go check our basement. And to my surprise there was water everywhere. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if we noticed it earlier, but what can you do. Fortunatly because every home in our row flooded, the homeowners association is paying for people to come fix the carpet. But we don't know really what happened and hope that they will pay for other damages such as sheetrock in the closet where the water came through, and our ruined tent and sleeping bags, dutch oven, etc... Fat chance but we can try!! The thing that has been the worst is the smell, and it feels like we are living in Florida with the humidity!! But hey I guess you have to have some excitement. Here are some pics of our basement. (don't mind the ones with Ryan's feet!!!)

Give me a break...

So my big sis Hillary has been giving me grief about being a bad Auntie because I don't have any pictures of the adorable McKayden. In my defense she is not my child so it shouldn't be my responsibility. But because our sister Kelsey is a slacker I will fill in for her and try to post some pictures of the fabulous McKayden. So as my family says here is the "McKayden Show!!"

A little taste of who we are..

Today I was going through the pictures on our computer and I decided to create a slideshow of some pictures of Ryan and I. They are a little of everything, but they show our personality and interests, as well as our lives together. Hope you enjoy. Love you all!!!

The Dew Tour

Two weeks ago Ryan had a once in a lifetime chance to go behind the scenes at the Dew Tour. For those of you who don't know the Dew Tour is a series of 5 competittions for BMX biking, skateboarding, rollerblading, etc... And for the first time it came to Salt Lake City. Through one of Ryan's many connections (I still don't know how he does it?) he was able to get a "athlete guest pass" and could go anywhere in the compettion where the Pro's could go. Ryan had the chance to meet many professional skaters and hang out with them for two days. Ryan later admitted to me that he got star struck a few times when some of the Pro's would walk up to him and start having a normal conversation with him. Ryan had a blast!!!

Okay so I have a little obsession with Ryan Sheckler the skater. And I have a TV crush on him because of his show, "Life of Ryan" on MTV. And the sweetheart that Ryan is (my husband) took a picture of him for me. Ryan said that this is the closest he could get to him, but come on Ryan backstage pass??? I think Ryan was a little jealous and purposefully didn't take a good one for me. But I guess this will have to do!!!
